While reading the book "Hatchet" by Gary Paulsen, the students listen to the CD of the book being read to them as they follow along in their class book.  To add to the experience we use Google Earth's flight simulator and actually fly the plane just as they do in the book.

Also while reading the book we stop and look up survival tips and read other stories that go along with what we are reading in class.
